ATF3 is induced by cisplatin and carboplatin. (A) ATF3 protein expression levels after treatment with low and cytotoxic doses of cisplatin (1 and 10 µg/ml) and carboplatin (27 and 270 µg/ml) in SKOV-3, MCF-7, PC3, A2780-cp, and A549 cell lines. (B) Immunocytochemistry analysis of ATF3 expression (brown) in MCF-7 and PC3 cell lines in nontreated cells (control) and cisplatin treatment for 24 hours. Methylene blue stain is used as a nuclear counterstain. (C) Time course analysis of ATF3 expression in MCF-7 cells treated with cisplatin (10 µg/ml) or carboplatin (270 µg/ml) at the 4-, 8-, 12-, and 24-hour time points.
