Enzyme activities of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes I, II, III, IV were measured by spectrophotometric assays in mitochondrial samples in Caco-2/15 cells treated with (0.2 mM/2 mM) FE/ASC and/or (50 µM) BHT for 6 h at 37°C. Enzyme activities are expressed as nmol/min/mg protein. Each value represents the mean ± SEM for 3 separate experiments performed in duplicate. *P<0.05 vs. controls.
