BM cells overexpressing HoxB4 transdifferentiate into oligodendrocytes. Immunostaining brain sections from (a) MIGMLD and (b) B4MLD mice with anti-Iba1, anti-NeuN, and anti-O4 revealed that the majority of GFP⁺ cells were Iba1⁺ glial cells. O4⁺ oligodendrocytes were also detected in B4MLD mice but not in MIGMLD mice. (Bar = 100 µm).
