Constitutive inhibition of nAChRs. A. ACh (3 mM) induced currents in cells expressing α3β4 nAChRs alone were larger than when co-expressed with the P2X2 receptor (n=10). B. When α3β4 nAChRs were co-expressed with the P2X2 receptor (P2X2TR), ACh induced currents are similar to those recorded from cells expressing only α3β4 nAChRs (n=16). C. ATP (1mM) induced currents in cells expressing only P2X2 receptors are similar to those recorded from cells co-expressing P2X2 receptors and α3β4 nAChRs (n=12). D.
