Quantitative image analysis for SIV RNA revealed significantly fewer SIV RNA particles in frontal cortex (A) and brainstem (B) from animals that received CART as compared with untreated controls (P < 0.05). Fewer SIV RNA particles were also localized in hippocampus (C) and putamen (D) from macaques that received CART as compared with untreated controls; however, the results were not significant.
