For children in the Lying condition, accuracy reflects their “accuracy-as-told” when answering questions about the stomach, nose, and neck (i.e., their ability to maintain the lie as instructed in response to target touch questions) and their “accuracy-as-happened” when answering questions about the ears and toes (i.e., their ability to tell the truth in response to false touch questions).
