Increase in overall activity of OFF-cells (see Fig. 4) following icv improgan (Imp) reflected both an increase in the proportion of time active (A) and the firing rate during active periods (B). Neither parameter was altered following saline (Sal) injection. ***p < 0.001, t-test for correlated means (percent active), **p < 0.01 Wilcoxon's signed ranks test (firing rate during active periods).
