Schematic illustration of multiplexed QD tissue staining in which two primary antibodies from two animal species (e.g., primary rabbit and mouse antibodies) are used to recognize two tissue antigens. After washing, a mixture of two secondary antibody–QD conjugates is applied to stain the two primary antibodies. The same procedure is repeated using primary antibodies for additional antigens, followed by the use of secondary antibody QD conjugates.
