For HIV-1(IIIB), HIV-2(ROD), SIV(mac251), and SHIV(sm239), EC50s are the concentrations required to inhibit virus-induced cytopathogenicity in CEM (HIV) and U87 CD4+ CCR5+ CXCR4+ (SIV) cell cultures by 50%. For HuT-78/HIV-1 + Sup-T1, the EC50 is the concentration required to inhibit syncytium formation between HuT-78/HIV-1 and Sup-T1 cells by 50%. Data are the means of at least two to four independent experiments.
