Evolution of Salmonella serovar Typhimurium CFU counts (•, ○) and protozoan levels (▵, ▴) in soil samples (closed symbols) and manure-amended soil samples (open symbols) incubated at three different temperatures. Protozoan counting was done at 15, 24, and 42 days after the beginning of the assay. Protozoan levels at time zero were determined before the addition of bacteria.
