Cells were serum-starved for 24 h, treated with UTP (10 µM) or Ang II (1 µM) for 4 or 24 h and protein expression analyzed via flow cytometry. (A) 4 h UTP treatment increased PAI-1 expression in CFs but this increase reverts to basal levels by 24 h (B). Ang II increases PAI-1 at 4 and 24 h (A, B). UTP does not increase α-SMA at 4 h (C) or 24 h (D) but Ang II stimulation for 24 h significantly increases α-SMA protein expression (D).
