FIZZ1 expression in lung tissue of control and OVA-challenged WT and Gal-3 KO mice (n = 6/group) was evaluated by immunohistochemistry using goat polyclonal antibodies against murine FIZZ1. Airway FIZZ1 expression was quantitated by image analysis using Image J and expressed as FIZZ1-positive area (µm²)/100 µm BML (A) Peribronchial angiogenesis was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining of lung sections with antibodies against CD31. The number of blood vessels with a diameter less than 15 µm in the area surrounding the airways (150 µm) was quantitated and expressed as the number of blood vessel per airway (B).
