Efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents. Cell lines were treated with resveratrol (20 μM) prior to the addition of various concentrations of 5-FU (1-100 μM), Mitomycin C (1-10 μM) or gemcitabine (1-100 μM). The IC50 dose was calculated as the dose of the chemotherapeutic agent required to inhibit the proliferation to 50% of the untreated cells in an MTS cell proliferation assay
