Figure 3

Gene expression in GNMT-KO mice after NAM administration. NAM administration in GNMT-KO prevented alterations in the expression of critical genes involved in (A) lipid metabolism (CD36, ADFP, PPARα and SIRT1), (B) oxidative stress (CYP4A10, CYP4A14, CYP39A1, and CYP2E1), (C) inflammation (PPARγ, UCP2, iNOS, and IL6), (D) extracellular matrix regulation (COL1A1, TIMP-1 and α-SMA) and (E) MAT2A. Gene expression was assessed by real time PCR using specific primers and values were normalized with GAPDH mRNA expression. Each bar represents the mean ± SEM of at least quintuplicate experiments. Results are expressed in arbitrary units (a.u). *P <0.05, GNMT-KO versus WT mice; **P <0.05, GNMT-KO versus GNMT-KO + NAM mice.
