(a–d) By using real-time quantitative PCR, increased expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL mRNA was noted in cytotrophoblastic cells treated with vitamins C and E at standard culture conditions. (e–h) In contrast, vitamin treatment decreased the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA and increased the expression of Bak mRNA in comparison to the vehicle control in cytotrophoblastic cells subjected to HR.
