The gypsy-Su(Hw) system facilitated the examination of the promoter activities of the Transport Inhibitor Response 1/Auxin Receptor F box (TIR1/AFB) gene family. Promoter analysis lines for this gene family were generated using the pGYPSY-TL-Su(Hw) construct in which the gypsy insulators flanked the transgenes, and the Su(Hw) protein was expressed in a cis manner.
