Inhibition of the glucose transport activities of the D340C mutant of Cys-less Hxt7 and of wild-type Hxt7 by pCMBS. Cells expressing either D340C (A), a mutant of Cys-less Hxt7 in which Asp³⁴⁰ is replaced with Cys, or wild-type Hxt7 (B) were incubated for 5 min at 30 °C with the indicated concentrations of pCMBS before measurement of transport activity for 5 s at 30 °C with 0.1 mm d-glucose as substrate. Glucose transport activities are expressed as a percentage of that determined without pCMBS and are means ± S.E. (n ≥ 3).
