Immunization schedule was completed as described for figure 1. On days 4 and 7 following challenge, IFN-γ, MIP-1α, and MIP-1β cytokines were detected in lung supernatants by EIA. IL-4, IL-10, and IL-13 were below the limit of detection (20 pg/mL). * = p≤0.01 and ** = p≤0.001 by T-test compared to empty vector-immunized control group. N=5 mice per group at each time point from one independent experiment.
