(A) Plasma melatonin concentrations were determined in blood samples obtained from control subjects (n=8 subjects) at 22:00 h, 02:00 h, 06:00 h, 09:00 h and 10:00 h (open squares). Samples were also obtained at the indicated times of the day pre- and post-saline infusion (open circles; n=2 subjects), and pre- and post-endotoxin infusion (closed diamonds; n=4 subjects).
