Trangenic (TG) myocyte (B) viability was significantly reduced compared with wild-type (WT) myocytes (A), and isoproterenol (ISO) treatment enhanced myocyte death in both groups. Nifedipine (NIF) increased survival of both WT and TG myocytes. ISO + NIF treatment increased myocyte viability compared with NIF alone in WT and initially in TG myocytes.
