Animals were challenged by intraperitoneal injection with a bacterial mixture of two standardized inocula (about 5 ×10⁶ CFU), using strain LNP21362 (Rif^s) and its isogenic strain NM05-08 (Rif^r), harboring the rpoB20 (H552Y) allele. Bacterial counts are shown for T0 and 2 and 6 h after infection. The results shown are means for groups of 10 mice for each point. P values were determined by two-tailed Student's t test.
