Folic acid supplementation increases expression of Notch1 and hairy and enhancer of split 5 (Hes5) proteins. Neural stem cell (NSC) neurospheres were incubated for 6 days in medium containing 4 mg/l folic acid (Control), 8 mg/l folic acid (Folate-L), or 44 mg/l folic acid (Folate-H).
