P. gingivalis cells were grown in enriched BHI broth, washed with PBS, and suspended in PBS at an optical density at 540 nm of 0.3. The suspension and its dilutions in a 2-fold series were applied to the wells of a microtiter plate from left to right and mixed with sheep erythrocyte suspension.
