Here, Symbiodinium sp. from clade A (CCMP 831) loaded on a syringe filter was tested in the dark (grey background) and in the light (yellow background). Each run started and ended by recording the background signal of filtered seawater (FSW) flowing through an empty syringe filter. The effect of the NADPH Oxidase inhibitor DPI (6 µM added to FSW) on superoxide production by the algae and on the background FSW signal was also tested in the light and in the dark as labeled.
