The detector was set at 235 nm, except for the assay with tylactone 12 where absorbance at 280 nm was monitored as well. a) Desosamine is transferred from 3 to 9 with 1 and 4 formed as products; b) 3 + 10 → 1 + 5; c) 3 + 6 → 1 + 7; d) 3 + 12 → 1 + 13 (235 nm, 13 is invisible at this wavelength); d) 3 + 12 → 1 + 13 (280 nm, 1 and 3 are invisible at this wavelength).
