Effects of antiretroviral treatment on endothelium-independent vasorelaxation. Aortic rings from animals treated for 5 days with antiretrovirals were precontracted with 10−7M phenylephrine, and the percent relaxation was determined after addition of increasing concentrations of SNP. Two-way ANOVA revealed no effect of treatment with (A) AZT, (B) indinavir (IDV), or (C) AZT + IDV.
