Cohorts of C57BL/6 mice were injected with 5×10⁴ B16F10 cells by tail vain. Ten days later, mice were given no treatment or MSC (5×10⁵) that was transduced with rAAV-IFN-α or GFP, or transfected with a plasmid encoding IFN-α. Cohorts of mice from each group (n=10) were sacrificed at day 20 to determine the effect of therapy and remaining mice (n=10) were allowed for long-term survival. The in vivo experiment was repeated twice. Images represent lungs from indicated treatment group on day 20 (Figure 3A) and the number of metastatic colonies (*p<0.001; Figure 3B). Survival index is given in Figure 3C (*p<0.01).
