The figure shows G-CSF ncIBs observed under electron microscope after isolation from bacterial cells using three different methods of bacterial cell disrupion. IBs isolated with enzymatic lysis (A). IBs isolated with high-pressure homogenization (B). IBs isolated with ultrasound - sonication (C). When cells are isolated with enzymatic lysis, impurities can be observed, covering the gold-coated polycarbonate Isopore™ membrane filter. Most of the pores on the filter are also covered (A). On the other hand, when mechanical methods are used for IBs isolation, the pores on the filter are clearly visible and only some darker shadows (impurities) can be observed on the filter (B and C).
