NH₃/NH4+-induced current in the presence and absence of Ba⁺². In oocytes expressing Rhbg, NH₃/NH4+-induced current averaged −107 ± 3.1 nA (n = 8) in the absence of Ba⁺² and −106 ± 8.8 nA in the presence of Ba⁺² (P > 0.5). Similar results were obtained in H₂O-injected oocytes: −62 ± 11.3 nA in the presence of Ba⁺² and −78 ± 8.8 nA in its absence (P > 0.05). The NH₃/NH4+-induced current in H₂O-injected oocytes is significantly smaller than that in Rhbg oocytes.
