Relationship between the mean times to establishment of an adaptive three-step allele with neutral intermediate states, with the mutation rate scaling negatively with the effective population size as defined in the text (and with the resultant values of Neu given along the upper horizontal axis). Results are given for a selective advantage of s = 0.01 (solid lines and circles) for several different rates of recombination (c, assumed to be equal between each adjacent pair of sites).
