^aCells of the triple mutant carrying plasmid psamT were grown with 2 mM S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) (experiments 1 to 3) and without SAM (experiments 4 to 6) in NGCAA and photographed after 6, 8, or 10 h as noted. Photographed cells were measured, and average, maximum, and minimum lengths were determined.
