(A) and (B) Pathogenicity assays on rice (Oryza sativa cv. CO39). Rice leaves unwounded (A) and wounded (B) were inoculated with wild type Guy11, ΔMosec22, and reconstituted ΔMosec22Mosec22R) strains with water agar as control (WA). Representing leaves were photographed 5 days post inoculation. The experiments were repeated at least three times with triple replications that yielded similar results. (C) Blast symptoms on rice roots. Arrows show necrotic lesions.
