(A) Mice were inoculated i.p. with PBS or with L. monocytogenes WT (EGD), the ΔinlC mutant, or the complemented ΔinlC mutant (ΔinlC + inlC), and levels of KC and MIP1α in the peritoneal lavage fluid were measured by ELISA at 12 h postinfection. (B) Leukocytes present in the peritoneal lavage fluid were pelleted and processed by flow cytometry, and the number of neutrophils (PMN) was determined.
