Effects of CXCR2 knockout on bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) neutrophils (A,B) and lymphocytes (C,D) in sham and RV-treated mice 24 and 96 h post infection. Wild-type BALB/c and CXCR2−/− mice were treated with 45 μl of 3 × 108 TCID50/ml RV1B or sham (HeLa cell supernatant). BAL was performed with 0.9% NaCl containing 5mM EDTA. Note the one-log difference in scale between panels A, B and C, D.
