Parental HOS cells, As-8w-HOS, and As-T-HOS cells were treated with different concentrations of FAC in serum-free media. Cells were lysed in RIPA buffer and ferritin was measured by ELISA. Results are presented as the means ± SE from three independent experiments and shown as ng ferritin per mg protein.

a

Significantly different from control HOS cells (P < 0.05).

b

Significantly different from 6-h iron treatment (P < 0.05).

c

Significantly different from the As-8w-HOS and As-T-HOS cells under the same experimental conditions (P < 0.05).
