GSH/GSSG ratio of left lungs 4 h after LPAL in wild-type (WT) C57Bl/6 mice, WT NAC-treated mice, CD1 mice, and Nrf2−/− mice relative to strain-specific sham lungs. Significant reductions were observed 4 h after LPAL in WT mice (as in Fig. 4) and in Nrf2−/− mice compared with CD1 sham lungs (*P = 0.001; n = 6–7 mice/group). Neither NAC-treated mice nor CD1 mice after 4-h LPAL showed changes in GSH/GSSG relative to their respective sham controls.
