Kinetics of rotavirus replication in the mouse small intestine. Levels of NSP4 mRNA (A) and protein (B) expression in jejunum at several days postinfection were determined by in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry, respectively. No rotavirus antigen was detected beyond 7 dpi in any part of the small intestinal epithelium. Quantitative expression of NSP4 mRNA and structural rotavirus proteins were analyzed by RNA and protein dot blotting, respectively (C and D).
