PBMCs from a healthy HCMV-positive donor were activated with PMA and ionomycin and were costained with antibodies specific for CD3, CD8, CD45RA, CD27, T-bet, IFN-γ, and TNF-α. T-bet^bright cells were defined as those that stained stronger than naive T cells (Figure 4C, filled gray histogram).
