The main steps in composing the mammographic texture. The images are slices extracted from a breast matrix with size of 75 mm in each direction and voxel dimension of 150 μm. The texture matrix was created using the following parameters: Number of random walks Nwalks=1500, number of steps per walk Nsteps=2000, increment h=0.1, and Hurst exponent H=0.95. Additionally, a 3×3×3 mask was used to perform the low pass filtering and dilation, while the standard deviation (σ) value for the Gaussian filtering was set to 1.5. For better understanding, the names of the matrices obtained after the steps are related with the imaging operation performed, namely, RWM: Random walk matrix; DM: Dilation matrix; LPM: Low pass filtering matrix; GM: Gaussian matrix; and FTM: Final texture matrix.
