Mitochondrial clustering catalyzed by Parkin is microtubule dependent. (A) Microtubule polymerization inhibitors hampered the perinuclear clustering of mitochondria. HeLa cells expressing HA-Parkin were treated with CCCP plus DMSO (control), nocodazole or colchicine, then immunostained with anti-Parkin or anti-Tom20 antibodies. Scale bars represent 10 μm. Treatment with both nocodazole and colchicine caused the depolarized mitochondria to scatter throughout the cells.
