LAH-KLH antiserum reacts with both group 1 and group 2 hemagglutinin proteins, whereas HA2 antiserum reacts only with group 2 hemagglutinin proteins. HA2 and LAH-KLH serum pools demonstrate comparable binding activity against the A/Hong Kong/68 H3 hemagglutinin but have different binding activities against other group 2 hemagglutinins.
