Increased pheromone-induced cell death following chelation of extracellular Ca²⁺ ions with BAPTA. (A) C. albicans strains were incubated with 10 μM α pheromone in the presence of increasing concentrations of the Ca²⁺ chelator BAPTA. Cells were treated with pheromone for 5 h and analyzed by staining with propidium iodide and flow cytometry to determine the percentage of dead cells.
