Parental N9, shP2X7/N9 and shEgr/N9 cells were treated overnight with either vehicle (250 mM Hepes) or BzATP (150 μM). (A) BzATP increases IL-6 expression in parental N9 microglia. (B) BzATP-induced IL-6 expression is strongly attenuated in shP2X7/N9 and shEgr/N9 cells. The data are graphed as fold induction relative to either vehicle (A) or BzATP treatment (B) in each cell type.
