Interference RNA against TRPM4 protects HeLa cells from H₂O₂-induced necrotic cell death. A, bars show the percentage (mean ± S.E., n = 9) of live (empty bars), apoptotic (light gray bars), and necrotic (dark gray bars) cells from wild type HeLa cells and HeLa cell clones stably expressing shRNA-SS (shRNA-SS) and shRNA-TRPM4 (shRNA-TRPM4) cultured in the absence or presence of 1 mm H₂O₂ for 4 h. Cell populations were determined by PI incorporation and measured 20 h after H₂O₂ removal.
