Example of sustained responses recorded from a neuron in the MGD, exhibiting high levels of SSA when tested at two closely spaced Δfs (0.10, first and second rows; 0.04, third row). This neuron had a reduced but still high degree of adaptation for the smallest Δf tested (0.04), revealing its ability to discriminate between two very close frequencies.
