High-risk: coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes mellitus or Framingham 10-year risk score 20% or greater. Intermediate risk: Framingham 10-year risk score 10% to 19%. Low-risk: Framingham 10-year risk score less than 10%;

Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) 2.0 mmol/Lor greater in high-risk patients, 3.5 mmol/L or greater in intermediate-risk patients, and 5.0 mmol/L or greater in low-risk patients;

Total cholesterol/ high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TC/HDL-C) ratio: high risk is 4 or greater, intermediate risk is 5 or greater, low risk is 6 or greater;
