Cultured HT4 cells were either injected 500 attomole GSSG (A and B) or 0.15 attomole arachidonic acid (C and D), and co-injected with 2 attomole glutaredoxin-1 (B and D). After 24h incubation, cells injected with GSSG (E) lost cell viability, while glutaredoxin-1 co-injected cells (F) were significantly protected. Cells injected with arachidonic acid (G) lost cell viability, while glutaredoxin 1 co-injected cells (H) were protected (I). attomoles injected [micromolar]i, n=3, Bar, 20 μm.
