Assessment of pro-apoptotic actions of phytochemicals against the anti-apoptotic effects of TCDD following UV-induced apoptosis in human U937 monocyte cells. Apoptosis was induced by UV light, and the number of apoptotic cells was determined after 4 h. Cells were treated with 10 nM TCDD for 48 h alone or pre-treated for 15 min with the indicated phytochemicals at the concentrations described in Fig. 2. Luteolin was treated at 10 μM.
