Effects of β-alanine (β-ala), an analog of taurine (tau) on H2O2-induced cell injury in PC12 cells measured by ATP assay. PC12 cells were preincubated with 25 mM taurine, 25 mM β-alanine or combination of 25 mM taurine and 25 mM β-alanine for 1 hour followed by treatment with or without 250 uM H2O2. The extent of cell viability was measured by ATP assay.
