(a) The models in this study consist of three simple Goodwin-type models used for all analyses and two detailed Arabidopsis circadian clock models used in the sensitivity analysis for the degree of nonlinearity. (b) The scheme describes the strategy for investigating the model sensitivity to external variations. The modified Goodwin models were subjected to both light regimes and the subsequent output oscillations were observed and employed to estimate the sensitivity of the model to environmental signal.
